Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
Same seller is selling a couple Airstrike planes. Never heard of these. Are they really 1 18?

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
Those are repainted BBI Corsair and Hellcat from Airstrike. I don't think they do them anymore, but some here have them and they are nicely done.
The King Tiger?

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
I msgd. the seller and he corrected his listing. Still, the pic looks like a production pic and not the actual tank.
Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
Here we go again. Will this one hit $1500? More? Less?
I wonder if this will keep the price lower:
"The turett has difficulty completing rotating, and the hatches do not open. I do not know if they were glued shut, or if it was designed this way"
Well, should be fun to watch anyway.

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
I just got this msg from the seller
"Yep these are rare indeed.I believe less than 15 were made. I got these from a friend who died, and he willed his collection to me. He was friends with one of the design engineers. He also gave me the 1/18 A-10 Thunderbolt (which I painted as it was a simple prime gray color.), and the F-4 Phantom. I have a few more prototypes that I may be listing soon, not too sure. I moulded the Tiger II and made 4 custom versions, so I'm unloading these. I just dont have room for them, and my modded versions look better anyway.

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
I'm inquiring about the phantom he mentioned.
Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
i was just thinking this may not be the same one that was auctioned of a while back. I figured there must be more than one. 15 of them he says. Interesting.
I believe the quality of plastic that's used for these types of prototypes is of low grade. So it may not hold up very well over time. I suspect that they're all painted differently, or at least many of them are, as they may have been paint masters or just used to assess which paint scheme to produce. It would be really nice to see a pic of the actual item for sale an not just the stock photo.
I wasn't aware that the Phantom had even been started, so that's news to me. And there was more than one A-10 prototype maybe, unless his friend is the one who bought the one that was on ebay a while back.
Nice inheritance.

hm....this gives me pause:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-18-Elite-Forc ... 2eba005a9e
you can buy those sets quite readily for not much money. They're made by Maisto.
This guy is virtually a brand new seller with almost no track record. I would definitely want to see pics of the KT before bidding on it.

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
From the seller " So I probably will be keeping the A-10 and F-4." after my inquiry about the F-4.
Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
He said he will be listing more soon and that he has more prototypes.I imagine that if the bid close high (which probably will) he will be sending a lot of second chance to the 9 highest bidders ,therefore making a ton of money in a short time.Pretty tempting, but for someone with a new account (Jun of this year to be exact) it is pretty risky.Barbarian333 wrote:I just got this msg from the seller

Even if i see a picture of the actual tank,he may just have this one and may not even send anything at all. He said he molded the Tiger II,but if he have so many, why waste a ton of money on RTV for making molds a ton of money on resin to make the tanks,no to mention a ton of hours if not days and go trough all the trouble just to make four when he already have ten? I will like to see supposed custom resin tanks in pictures.
Also he have a airplane from skyworks. Is he related to skywork? we all know the situation with skyworks.
I will rather wait for Pickelhabe tiger tank which will provable look realistic and i trust more my money in him than some one with a new account. Not to mention that with the money that auction will close i can get 3 king tigers from Pickle.
Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
yeah, Pickel is the definition of epic... look it up... ok, actually don't look it up... but you know what I mean.
it be like dat

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
I am leary of someone making serious comments, like there were 14 KT 21C protos? and he has them. We know of only one bought by one of us.
I'd rather believe the Cat Lady who had some serious protos to sell. I bought from her and found she was honest in her description of the proto and I'd have no problem dealing with someone like her.
I'm not saying this guy is not honest. I'm just saying we do not know this guy and he has no track record.
Problems with bidding as far as I'm concerned. And I really like my 1/16 KT...

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
keep hounding him for pics of the KT prototype. He's got pics of his other items for sale, why not the KT?
He may be well aware it went for $1500 and be trying to make a fast buck and scoot. Odd time of year to be selling something of high value, when people are broke. He may be broker and need some dough.

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
So, is it going to kill this mofo to put up some pics??? He has that, "PFF, their are 25 watchers on my item, I'm sure it will sell high. I gave an accurate enough description."
Now, does something sound screwy to you guys? Unless he posts pics, it's a no go for me. By the way, would ANY of you treat a potential customer this way???
BTW, I thought the hatches did not open...

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
yeah something is very fishy. He's asking $200 and is expecting it to sell for a lot and won't even post some pics of it?? And in fact is pretty much refusing to do so.
Something is very fishy.

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
Lets hope this is the real deal, but i would like to see some proof.I have seem people on ebay putting pictures even on $1 items. It makes no sense, why not to put the picture if this can boost the sale for hundreds more by just adding the picture.I will ask him about pictures of his army of king tigers.aferguson wrote:keep hounding him for pics of the KT prototype. I still remember when the A-10 prototype was offered at a starting bid of $6000.00 on ebay by marshall1146 back in April of 2010.

Re: 1 18 KING TIGER?
Looks very polished, shiny, and finished to me for a prototype.... As for ebay, 'watchers' and selling for big bucks, I've learned the hard way none of that matters until you have the money in hand. Any seller who thinks otherwise is only hoping or scamming.
