I just found a seller on ebay that is selling 7 of these for $58.99 each.

Let's see what happens...

It’s the same guy. He raised the price by 3$. Probably because they sold so fast. Not a lot of people having issues with buying these things. I can’t blame them either. If the online retailers don’t end up selling these then they will be pretty hard to get in the future.

I was hoping someone here would end up with one and post if they can tell if it’s a repaint. I doubt anyone would want to admit o buying one after all the controversy. :?

If someone can show they actually receive one, then I'll buy one! ;-)

if you're worried about trusting the seller you can. I've bought from him before a few times. 100% honest and great to deal with.

I'll be interested to see what happens and if these things are for real.

Back in the days of the Moneky Depot sale, I bought an extra 88 that I've been hanging on to with the goal of painting my loose one gray - eventually. It will only take a couple bottles of Tamiya German Gray paint and some of my extra John's Stuff decals to make it look pretty good. My modeling and weathering skills are good enough to do that simple of a scheme as well as 21c could have done, I just have to get around to it

I'm sure Jim at AllGo knows about these by now. Wonder if he can stop an auction?
It's a big grey area, and many things get put on there from Chinese dealers. This happens a lot with Star Wars figures before they are officially released and it hasn't stopped, though it's usually figures that are loose and not in Hasbro packaging. People go nuts over them. So if Hasbro has no control over this sort of thing, that doesn't bode well for Allgo to halt it.

I dont see what the legal justification would be to stop this auction. Seller is not claiming to be 21st Century (or manufacturer). He's just selling product in 21st boxes that he's bought from someone else, like many folks do, members of the forum included. Any legal action would be be based on claims someone is producing product using 21st molds and their name, and that would be between 21st and whoever produced them in the first place. I'm guessing using the 21st name is the big deal since JSI is using the molds and I dont see any legal action there. Regardless, if the mighty power of George Lucas and Hasbro cant stop sales on ebay of SW prototypes and new product that sneaks its way out of chinese manufacturers, I dont think AllGo has any chance in he!! of stopping this.

It is a repaint of an S1. The paint work is factory quality including weathering and decals/tampo printing. In some tight nooks and crannys as well as inside some of the tool and ammo boxes the original S1 color is still visible. The new license plate is clean but was placed over the old one.

That is very interesting. I wouldn't have thought it possible or practical to do that but i guess if you're paying someone 23 cents a day, it is. :?

So i guess AllGo doesn't have a beef, since these are the original run 88's. And it explains the re-use of the packaging.

If these are repaints... I wonder how soon we'll see them back on pre order at etailers?

This is weird, and a whole different scenario I'm guessing. Don't know the legal ramifications if any. They are listed on ebay as new though, and 21st Century Toys, but if they are repaints aren't they used?

So the question is, what's the difference between people doing custom painted 21st Century Toys, like many here do, and selling them, and these guys? I will agree, CW4USARMY makes a good argument in this case since they are repaints, and aren't actually manufactured recently from a factory up and running right?

I guess it's not cost effective for anyone here in the US do it. Buy a bunch of planes or armor, repaint them in assembly line fashion and sell them. Though that might be a good idea. Lots of unemployed people might be happy to do that.

I Just got today the Gray Flak 88 from the seller on ebay from China.
It took 15 days since the payment was made to arrive.
The first thing i look was at the box. It is 100% the exact same of the tan version.
In the pictures it show the tan version, not the gray.
Talking about Gray. The color is similar to the Pak 40 but it looks slightly darker, maybe because it has been airbrush in black in some spots like the front shield to look more real.
It has silver paint almost everywhere to simulate scratches, sort of like the Kubelwagen.
There is a little mud on the tires but the mud looks yellow. The markings and plate number are the same with the exception that there is no palm tree marking on this one.The crate is in gray color, but the inside is tan.Same color of the crate of the 88 tan version. But i inspect the Gun and there is hardly any trace of tan.Only a small section was left unpainted (factory error)and it shows the tan color.Still the paint job looks good and very realistic.
My conclusion is that it looks so different from the original.like i mention the paint looks more realistic than the original, but in the tan version, the details of the gun can be appreciated more better because is a lighter color. It displays really good with the panzer gray vehicles and the color blends nicely with my Panzer army.
