Sky Works A-10

Seems like Allgo is taking a back seat to this project, I would say when this project is done it will be Skyworks who gets the kudos, Allgo should have made something,anything with their name on it.

No Passion wagen, no Kingtiger and now another company building for them, seems that they have no resources what so ever, maybe they should delete their website as it seems that nothing is happening there.

yeah skyworks has produced their own planes in the past, why would they bother teaming up with allgo toys anyways? profit sharing? you get more profit when you do it yourself.

We need a 1/18 A-10!! its coming!

Just visited SkyWorks website for an update on the A-10...As others probably already know, they have added the nose gear assembly to the site & it is very impressive w/lots of interconnecting parts...It would seem to me that this is going to be a very expensive plane w/tons of detail, etc.
Unless, as Zach alludes to in this thread, they build several thousand of these things, I shudder to think what the preassembled price will be!

I see no reason why the A-10 wouldn't be as popular as the the F-14, around the same price, and done in plastic for the masses.

With Allgo as a partner, and owning the prototype I assume, I see no reason why they wouldn't set it up with Skyworks doing the tweaking of the prototype, getting paid handsomely for their excellent work, and then Allgo taking the ball and running with it for mass production. It just makes sense.

Otherwise it may as well be a Skyworks resin plane for the privileged few. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but if there's a market for an F-14 (even with the mistakes) then there's a market for an A-10 in plastic IMO.
Just a matter of whether they can turn a profit on it.

Nothing says cash-strapped like selling off your company's main assets (read beaten up prototypes) on e-bay.

If All Go was going to sell Passion Wagon, a P51D for $100.....I can't see this thing going for under $250...I'd say $300+ is more like it.

Looks good so far, although right away, tails are missing the LASTE upgrade radar altimeter antennas (which are two 'bumps' on the bottom of each tail...clearly visible on any A-10 after 1992). Kind of funny since they have supposed 'reference' material behind their parts and look on both pics, top right corner, you can see them.

I've never ever been a rivet counter, but if I would consider spending uber bucks for a model like this, it's got to be right. Don't want to pay top dollar to 'scratch build' parts.

If it's priced right, it will sell no doubt. But that's just it, it's gonna come down to money.

Bottom line is the plane is a recognizable, popular plane. It will sell well if most of us are not priced out. I have seen Jack's excellent work, and cannot dispute him getting paid for it. I hope that AllGo can and will produce this in decent numbers to keep the price within reach.

Yeah, capital investment, risk. If I was a billionaire I would invest in a project like this.

$300???? IF this is going to be in resin it will ABSOLUTELY be $1,000.00 plus. No question whatsoever. With a Tony running over $700.00, raise your hand if you think the A-10 will cost less than the Tony when the A-10 will probably take 3 times the amount of resin, detailing, etc. Nobody is really thinking that I hope.

I think the price, no matter what it is made of, will depend on how many are produced. I'm sure the more that are produced, the lower the price could be. If All-Go is in with Skyworks on this project, then maybe they will help bring it to a lower price with mass production. The Tony I'm sure is being hand made, one by one and not mass produced.

$800 at the least, but if see it going for $1000 if resin made, specially with skyworks, they are not cheap, there average price is round 700 for any plane. but i still see them selling alot of them.

Not particularly interested in the A-10, and will save my money for the hopefully upcoming F-15, and Su27.

I would still love to have an A-10 over anything else, even if I don't have room for it, but I'm with snake on this. Even serious collectors might find it difficult to throw $700+ at a single plane for their collection.

WOW ! expensive dust collector there...for that kinda money I'd buy a few more thousands rounds of ammo...anybody gotta link to where I can find large pistol primers IN STOCK...got plenty of powder-brass...primers are like extinct....With all due respect to the fine work going into this A-10 and would be a crowning jewel to have but none the less still justa mighty fine toy...IMHO..... Hopefully the price point won't be as high as many are speculating. I'm still hoping that All-Go being involved will help keep the price reasonable.

The work that is going into correcting/updating the original prototype is outstanding though...

No new updates it appears, but the A-10 is evidently still moving forward. The new 1/18 pilots page Skyworks aded to its website this weekend mentions how their pilots will fit in the upcoming A-10.

Hopefully we will hear something new soon....
