The answer to that depends largely on who you ask, and what your particular needs are. In my experience Model Master paints are hard to beat, but I know some guys prefer Tamiya, so I think it is more a matter of personal preference than one being superior to the other. Another option you might consider is the Krylon Ultra Flat, I've had excellent results with this stuff and a big can costs only about $6 or so at Home Depot, and you can paint a bunch of stuff with one can.pickelhaube wrote:Who makes the most accurate paint for the DAK ?

The Tamiya Dark Yellow and MM Afrika Mustard are both very good for small rattle cans. Slight difference in shade. Keep in mind that which ever of these two that you might get, you can get their small bottles of brush on paint to match the shade if you need to do some touch up or want to paint a part and don't want to have to do a lot of masking.

Were do you get this from ?gary1930 wrote:Yes, that's what I use. But there was an early and late DAK color. This one is the late.KAMIKAZE wrote:1944 Militaria was the company I was thinking of. $15.00 for a regular spray paint can. Not a bad price when you consider what a small testors can cost.

Yup, ditto what he said.schizuki wrote:I wouldn't get too hung up on the perfect, most accurate DAK shade. Paint was issued as a paste and thinned with whatever solvents were available in theater. When paint ran short, any available paint in a similar shade was used. Add in the effects of sun fading, and you'd be hard pressed to find two identically-painted tanks.
