XD/Military Toy Displays (Large Photos)
Well, after searching a few pages I realized that the thread about displaying your XD has dropped off the list.
So, I'm going to start up a new one. How about some photos of your XD displays?
I went today and took some photos of the various aircraft displays (XD and other) around the room.
I've got 33 XD/BBi Aircraft hanging in here right now with 8 more waiting to go up.
From the floor looking up at all the German Aircraft in a impossible formation:
Warhawks, P-38, Spitfire, ME-109 E-4, (wings of the corsair section)
The Big Corsair/Thunderbolt corner
Another angle of the Corsairs/Thunderbolts/etc
And you can see the small scale aircraft shelf
BBi corner, F-18 Blue Angel (#5), F-18 Golden Dragons, Apache.
On the bed is a big assortment of 32x aircraft, the two XD Cobras, two XD Hueys, BBi Kiowa, and BBi Abrams.
Two of the small scale shelf (Corgi, Model Power, Matchbox, Air Power)
P-38s and some XD armor & other various vehicles:
32x and XD armor - some opened, a lot sealed still
FOV Abrams/Apache, GIJoe Jeep with Driver, 32x Sherman
Bookshelf even is loaded with aircraft.
And finally, the shelves, one has a ton of aircraft on it (mostly Mustangs and hornets) and a 32x Mustang (blue nose)
Not pictured are the two P-51D Mustangs and Little Bird that are hanging.

NICE
WOW! that is a really large collection..nice! You have more planes than I have clone troopers!
So since you keep these hanging and a lot of your stuff out, do you do what I also do..have a dusting day ever other month or so? That is a lot of taking down and setting back up!
Great collection! Especially like the way you have some of your aicraft inverted. Nice idea.

It is the dang toy companies that have sometimes made me want to stop collecting toys!!!

Nice---though the Dino paper has to go---j/k. It is all very impressive. I noticed an 8th AAF tunic in one of the shots----do you collect the real stuff too? Just wondering what the story is on that one. There are a few of us on here who do the real thing too. It would be good to shoot the shit on that sometime.

Hey P51:Those are great photos-a very imaginative use of space. I can't believe all the XD planes you've managed to hang from one ceiling, yet things don't look crowded. I couldn't help noticing your Tyrannosaur collection-I've got some of those same figures, and am an avid dino nut myself. I've read interviews by several paleontologists (including Robert Bakker) who (just as an aside) mentioned they were into WWII aviation. The connection?
Maybe we subconsciously see Military planes and tanks as large, ferocious living creatures similar to dinosaurs. Just a thought.

Go Starbuck!

Thanks for the comments everyone! Whew, a lot to reply to.
Yeah, I will be painting the cieling a sky blue color soon, so I have to remove all the hooks and putty up the holes. NOT looking forward to that at all!before my dad removed the cottage cheese and got furious at the number of holes to patch!
He he, it would take way too much time to dust! I usually dust them as I take them down for various things, so eventually they all get dusted. Might take a year though. So since you keep these hanging and a lot of your stuff out, do you do what I also do..have a dusting day ever other month or so? Yeah I do actually. I've restored that Officer's Jacket back to how it would have been in WW2. All the person I got it from knew about it was that it was a USAAF Officer's Jacket and part of a bomb group. I picked the 8th Air Force and modelled it after a B-17 crew member and went out and hunted down all the various pins and lapels including the wings. I have a rather large assortment of WW2 USAAF and Army officer crushier type caps. I have a lot of other various WW2 items including a B-17 ammo canister and a line of used 50 cal bullets (from WW2) with model day dummy tips all linked together.I noticed an 8th AAF tunic in one of the shots----do you collect the real stuff too? Just wondering what the story is on that one. There are a few of us on here who do the real thing too.
I LOVED Jurassic Park, so I've collected a lot of the T-Rexes and Raptors from the movie. I'm only missing the JP3 T-Rex and the Lost World Bull T-Rex. I have a shelf with raptors on it including one of the limited edition numbered Stan Winston Studios Jurassic Park Raptor statues. I'm not sure of the connection actually, just love Dinos! This room is smaller than it appears in the photos. I'm not sure of the exact dimentions. It's a good sized room, but it's not as big as it may appear. How big is that room?
He he, a lot of people call it 'The Museum'. I'm trying to have every major aircraft from the Wright Brother's Plane to the F-22 Raptor represented in here somehow no matter what scale. From Micro Machines to XD.You're basically all set to open up your own hobby store!
For crying out loud Britt! You really are a sick individual. And I thought I was bad!!
