just recently got into the 1/18 collecting
. Just got back into G I Joe Collecting in the last 6 months after 20 years away. kinda surprised the 1/18 scale doesn't do better business than what it does, you get a bbi kiowa/apache/blackhawk if you're a G I Joe collector and it's like, wow
, totally new world. Anyway, love the 1/18 BBI's and glad I found this forum..

Welcome aboard! I found this board while searching for info on BBI for my 25th Joes. The introduction of 25th Joes also lured me from a 20yr pause in Joe collecting. Make sure you checkout Monkey Depot before everything is gone. It's been a big 1/18th orgy in here for the past 3wks.

Actually you'd be surprised how many Joe fans don't like the 1:18 stuff. It makes them admit that their Joe vehicles are mostly crap. It hurts their pride.
Who needs a 25th Locust when you do better with a Bbi OH-58D or a 21st Super Cobra?
Welcome aboard.

Yes, these are the guys I ignore, which is a large chunk of hisstank. I would say most simply don't know this stuff exists judging by their reactions when you throw some photos up over there. One of the problems for them is the price. They complain about $25 for a Joe vehicle and can't begin to imagine > $50 for one.

And yet some of them will spend loads on color variants or repaint box sets.

Exactly. That is why they lose credit with me. $100+ for a variant figure is ok, but $60 for the Ultimate Battle Pack is too much.

When I saw the MOBAT in the UBP, I about pissed myself. Some things are better left as a childhood memory.

count me as the oddball who will pay bigger $$$ for BBI vehicles than he will for G I Joe vehicles.
..If I would have had a 1/18 PaveHawk back in the day, I might have set a record for days absent from school

THAT battle pack. i can't formulate a coherent sentence about that thing.
I will say that the only thing that was good about the MOBAT was it's separate treads/wheels. Only time Hasbro got that feature right.
