All hope may not be lost...
BBI seems to be on a resurgence with their three 1:18 releases and probably more to come. Perhaps they will work repaints of the existing 1:32 items into the mix (i.e. the F-4, Dauntless, and Wildcat) and eventually head towards new toolings like the F-104.
