One more question TKO. You say you found some at WM, where exactly in the toy dept. are they located?

I collect 1:48 scale, so this is very exciting news. That said, without any official 'coming soon' announcements, no advertisements, no pictures and no website... don't you think this is a lousy way to sell a 'test' run of new merchandise? :?:

I agree. I really don't understand the mysterious lack of information about a new product line. :? :?

Finally! Thanks guys. Well, they do look interesting. Is the red-tail P-51 all that is available now or are there other aircraft. Sharp looking box and nice price, I'm sure these will be on Ebay for $20 each any time now. Can't wait for a review, hint, hint!

These were found between some trucks on the "transportation" boy toy isle. This is one isle over from the Star Wars and other licensed action figure stuff. They are the 9.97 price tag. Not sure what the 14.97 was for.
The fit and finish were good on the sample I bought. No paint defects. Good registration of the stars and the numbers with the yellow trim border. The plane comes with the 2 canopy styles and the option for open or closed on both. includes drop tanks, bombs, and plug and play gear for up or down position.

Red tails was all that I saw there so likely it is being tested in one scheme or perhaps it's one scheme to a box? I get the impression that it's one scheme. This store started with 10 on friday afternoon and now has 1 left. So far so good!

Awesome! Thank you TKO, I am definitely interested! I hope the distribution is better than 21st's back in the days. It is a good sign that they are selling so well, I'm sure the movie helps. Wow, whens the last time we saw realistic military at WM?

Thanks to TKO and Harry for getting pics of these posted.

$10 is dirt cheap for a 1/48 P-51.

And interchangeable canopies is a great touch.

Great timing as well, with the tie in to Red Tails. Hope that these do well, and we see further releases from this company. :D

Found them today at the Normal, Illinois Walmart. There were 8 now 7. On the shelf near the police vehicles. All they had were the red tails but the box shows a P47, P51D, F104 and an FW190.

Are you sure about that? I think you meant BF-109 and not a Starfighter.

Yeah, that's kind of an odd choice given the other three planes.

I mean, why not a 109 considering the movie and all?

I will probably get one of the WWII planes for my daughter as I got her three of the 1/48 21C tanks when they were still around.

Probably not, the original 21st releases didn't come with a pilot either.

HWORTH18:

Thanks. For $10, those planes look like bargains to me.....but I guess it would cost even more to find 1/48 pilots for the planes.

One of the P-51s is up for sale on eBay for a "buy It Now" price of $35, with no shipping costs ( Item No: 290661724494 ). The seller has some better pictures of the model which are included below. First, a side view:Image
