Other 21st century projects cancelled

Post by ExC17load » Wed Apr 08, 2009 10:17 pm

I'm not sure if this is a repeat post, or if anyone is actually surprised, but Aiken's Airplanes, which always had a lot of offerings and decent prices is listing the B-25, the Mig Mad Mavis, the F-4 and Boyington Corsair as cancelled. I never bought from this company, but they always seemed to have good information. Just letting everyone know that there are other 21C death knells starting to toll.
"I can stop collecting 1:18 scale anytime, really I can. OOoh, the new Stuka re-paint! I don't have that one.

I've bought a ton of stuff from Dave over the years, real good people to deal with. He keeps up on the business pretty good and if he marked it cancelled he found something out most likely.

I have never bought anything from him, but I personally wouldnt have hesitated to do so. Like I said, this site always seem to be up to speed with everything and I visit it often.

3000toys.com also pulled Pappy's Corsair from their lineup. They really clean up their listings. I think they only have about 9 1/18 AC listed. I guess the word is getting around and is confirming what we've been talking about.

And what news from 21C is gonna be next????

Are they gonna cancel the 1/18 U-Boat?....... and we were sooooooooo close to that one.

And what about the 1/18 B-17?...... we were all holding out breath on that baby...

I would be very surprised if we ever hear from 21C again about 1/18. Maybe 1/32 or 1/48 or 1/144, but not our beloved 1/18.

From past experience with 21C, just forget about the idea of anyone getting their hands on 21C moulds. They would either keep them or destroy them, or loose them. They did it in the past.

We can just put our heads high and march into the sun with other manufacturers, or go with 1/16....

Not a shock, but a little sad.

Don't forget some of the early moulds were reported as burnt in a factory fire. Then they were lost. Then they disappeared at sea. Wow, those moulds have really bad luck.
