This is what I have come up so far. Still rough, need to clean it up and paint it...

What I did was to take a 2 1/8" hole saw and drill through some sheet plastic or plastic lid. Then I took a 1-1/2 PVC trap adaptor (Plumbing fittings found at Home Depot) and then cut the desired length with a chop saw or bench saw. After that, I glued the 2" round cut out onto the cut piece. Drill and cut out the notch for the Quad 50 and then sand. Epoxy the extension on the M16 and let it harden. Then paint. Any question, just ask.
PS. The outside diameter of the fitting is dead nuts to the diameter of the quad base.

That is a good idea. The thought of matching the diameter didnt enter my mind. I am figuring that once I paint the extension, it will not show too much. Your conversion is well thought out...

Wow I've done scale modelling and kit bashing but I think that's a little beyond my expertise lol. Very nice though!

More use for the M-16, or at least part of it:
Besides the great work by you guys raising the turrets, how about moving the whole turret. Two size trailers were used with the quad mount....a small wheeled mount that could be towed behind a Jeep and the second trailer was a large 1 ton trailer pulled by a 3/4 ton Dodge or the 1 1/2 six wheeled Dodge. We have both from 21C. Only thing missing is the trailers.



My trailer is a custom made 1/16 trailer, I picked up on EvilBay that I've been using as a 1 ton behind my Dodges.

A "de-quaded" halftrack would make a great candidate for a M4 81mm Mortar Carrier. I dont have any interior shots of the mortar carrier, but I imagine the floor fron the quad would come in handy...

Yes, ny only problem is the trailer is 1/16 so I use it as a one one ton (WW2) in 1/18. Minor problem is it's in resin, but that really doesn't matter as I'm careful with it. Going to have problems as soon as my grandcrumsnatcher gets tall enough to notice them. Anyway, he'll see my 1/6 stuff first. He's busy now with a rideon tractor crawler tractor/front end loader.....but at 18 months he's starting to climb......

Last year I took my friends "Quad" for a spin. I'm still sore tho because I had to cut my legs off to get in the darn thing! Sure was alot of fun.

Ok, maybe a stupid question but how are you guys getting a figure into the gun turret....it seems way cramped!

Thanks Digger, I saw those......I was thinking I may take the turret apart and rework the seat....so I can get a figure in the correct way. Has anyone tried this? Pulling the legs off is one thing....as you cant see those anyway...but having to pull his arms off too, in order to fit the seat is pushing it, IMO. Also, the smaller version figs, like the original Sherman driver, just dont look good next to the big figures.

As I said above, I was able to get a BoB Tanker figure body into the turret with only having to remove the lower legs - which you wouldn't be able to see anyways. You have to position the arms in the correct manner so the joints aren't sticking out and it is a tight squeeze, but the figure does fit. Now getting it out will be the hard part

The smaller figure won't be standing next to the taller figures. Stuffed into the gun turret, you won't notice the size difference.
