21st 1:48 fighters

Post by sledgehammer » Sat Oct 03, 2009 8:56 pm

Have been thinking about pu the f-6f and the tony from 21st in 1/48 scale. Are these anywhere the detail and calibre as some of the FM and Corgi diecast models? They sure are cheaper.

I have both Tony's and both Hellcats and they are superb for the price. They are basically like built models and I don't think you will be disappointed when you get them. The planes I have go great with my Japanese Marushin fighters and other than the fact they are plastic, you really can't tell any difference.

BTW, I have a bunch of Hellcats (both versions) and an extra Green Tony if you are interested..

All the 21c 1:48 scale aircraft are great models. The Tonys and Hellcats are among the best.

Thanks guys, I think I will get a couple. I know the P-51B Princess and P-40N are very nice models, especially for the price, just wanted to double check on the other 2. I have started collecting 1:48 and want everything I get to have uniformity in detail and quality. Sucks that diecast is soo expensive but there is so much amazing work out there; its just too hard to collect only 1:18.

I'm not a 1:48 collector but I couldn't pass on the silver and green Tony and the Aleutians P-40E.

If 21st had survived I was hoping we would have seen them in 1:32.

Cool. Both prices are a bargain for these little gems. Just wish 21st was still around to make more.
