Polish PT-76 Tank
I just got a "Model" Polish PT-76 tank off Ebay(280839763394) which I believe was made by a company in Poland as the wording on the box is "Czolg Plywajacy" and "Spojnia" which translates to Amphibious tank and Spojnia is I believe a Polish toy company.Anyway there are pictures on the box of 3 AFV's available, the PT-76 a OT-64 Skot and a BTR-50.All the vehicles have the Polish Red/White checkerboard insignia which makes me think are made in Poland. there is nothing on the under side of the tank saying model number or where made or anything.Anyway I would really like to obtain more of these especially the Skot.So if any of the European readers on this site come across these I am interested in them. From the style of the graphics and feel of the condition of the box would think these were from the 1980's,so would probably be found at Flea Markets, Garage Sales, etc.I don't know how to put up a picture but if anybody wants to see the box PM me and I can scan a picture for you,you can also see item on Ebay but the box is behind the PT-76 so it blocks a good view of it.Remember he who dies with the most toys wins!!
Re: Polish PT-76 Tank
I've entered PT-76 in my eBay browser and got more than 160 item. A lot of die-cast (for example Solido, 1/50), kits (Trumpeter 1/35, 1/72...), plastic models (1/87 HO scale) and much more scales for die-cast toys from East Germany, ex-USSR... only 2 sorts of polish PT-76, 1/35 kits from brands Armo and Trumpeter. But not the box you saw. Same findings for the Tatra OT-64 Skot (mainly 1:87 HO or 1:35 scale, mainly czech) that looks like any 8x8 wheel APC/LAV and for the BTR-50 (mainly russian)... What scale and what kind of modell (die cast, plastic kits) are you looking for?

Re: Polish PT-76 Tank
It sure sounds like the Glencoe 1/32 models. They made the PT-76 and the troop carrier and the Frog. Are these Polish models 1/32?

Re: Polish PT-76 Tank
Well these AFV's aren't really "Modell" in the Glencoe sense think of the Airfix 1/32 Military Series vehicles, you know the set with the Bedford truck,Cromwell tank etcThe PT-76 I obtained is hard plastic with 2 rear wheels for a friction engine and 1 smaller centre front wheel. The treads are moulded on they don't turn.Measures out at 7"L x 3 1/2"W x3'' to turret top.Cannon is 3 1/4" L.If the Ebay item number dosn't open up a picture send your email address(PM) and I'll scan a picture to you.I think that any chance of getting anymore of these will have to be from European sources as I don't think these made it across the Atlantic. As I've said before the "Skot" is the one I would really like to obtain.ketelone wrote:It sure sounds like the Glencoe 1/32 models.
