Fun with a Blackhawk

Post by Sabrefan » Wed Aug 15, 2007 7:32 pm

I stopped by Target tonight, and I was excited to see two Blackhawks, and two Apache helicopters there. I had been wanting a Blackhawk, and I was looking forward to getting home and putting it together. I tell you I had not had this much fun putting a model together in some time. The BBI Blackhawk represents everything we like about 1/18th scale models. It is big, well made, goes together well, and most of all it is FUN! I highly recommend this model. It just looks awesome when you get it together. All this for 30 bucks! :D :D :D

I totally agree with you :D Its wonderfully big, holds alot of figures, and just looks cool! One can't beat the Target price either! Now if only they included the miniguns and a working wench...

Man, If every one of my Blackhawks came with a working "wench", I would be set!!!

Seriously, you truly can not beat the value of the BH, especially at Target prices. If there ever was a 1/18 scale aircraft that appeals to both the collector (fairly accurate details and dimensions) and the "mommy I want that" crowd (playability and durability), the Blackhawk is it.

Now, where is that SH/HH variant Mike? (Yeah, I know, wait and see.)

Yeah, that is a great piece. I put mine together while watching Blackhawk Down for the tenth time.

Sabrefan,
Don't know if you collect figs but if you ever needed a few figs it's now. Grab some Nightstalkers to crew the sucker and maybe a few Spec Ops guys for the back.

Just make sure you watch those blades. They will sag in a major way if not supported. You have been warned!

The Blackhawk (and Apache too) are retailing at Target for $29.99 USD 8) This more than beats the $60 price of both items online and when they were at TRU - essentially a 50% discount! In fact, the FOV 1:48 Blackhawks are going for $25 at Target, and while that's not bad, you could pay just a little more and get a huge version of the same helicopter

Is there any difference between the BBI Blackhawk and Pavehawk? Or is it just the paint scheme?

Yeah, the paint scheme and you can only put Air Force figures in the Pavehawk.
