Modern German TOW Weasel MK I

Post by steelbonnet » Sat Feb 25, 2006 10:39 am

Hi there,

Well here we have finally the first of the 3 Armoured vehicles that Chap Mei made.

The vehicle is SPOT ON & pretty much on the nail for scale of the German Armour WEASEL tracked vehicle (not sure is Tank is appropriate).

Out of the 3 I have,2 I am making into the 2 man crew 20mm Cannon turret version & one to an accurate 3 man crew TOW version.

So here i present the TOW version (Not painted yet, need to get the spray paints).

First off here`s what the Original Chap Mei vehicle looks like.

Here`s photo of the REAL version.

Well onto my custom one i suppose.

Both rear hatches work.,the TOW has + & - elevation & can rotate. The MG 4 has a swing out mount,also + & - elevation.
I`ve made a new rear section for the vehicle & removed a lot of bits that were totally useless.

Anyway here you go:-

Thank`s very much :D

The TOW conversion is the easier out of the two. The 20mmm turret I think I`ve now got a bead on it,I think it`s cause i`m doing two at once...LOL

Anyway Glad you guys like the TOW version :D

MG-42,you provide the parts mate,I`ll do one for you :D

SteelB:

Can you show us the original toy (out of the box)?

Looks very nice, I'm just confused with the markings. Why the invasion circle on the star? That's WW2, from D-Day.

I would imagine if we had a few of these guys on D-Day we would have kicked some kitty butt with the TOW.... 8)

Your vehicles look very good.

Hey TTT,

The first post has a couple of links to the original out of box, with the Chap mei version of a TOW & all the little acc`s they plastered on the vehicle too.

As for marking, well Chap Mei have NEVER been accurate for that....LOL
The FUCHS can be found with the Allied Invasion Star too as well as many other vehicles.

Thank`s BTW for the kind words & if the German`s had these back in WWII well things indeed may have been different. A Lot cheaper & a Larger number would have been fielded against the East & West & South battlefronts.

Thank`s very much 75thRanger :D Kind of you to say so.

As for my approach to International Forces, well whilst the Brands seem to be more orientated to US forces, nice to see other nations actually get acknowledgment :D
So I have a Large US presence already.

It will take some time, though I do plan on having a small unit from a LOT of other Nations too. Though being British I had to look after my own first :D The German`s well there Great guys with Great training & Great kit.

I`ll post each Nation as & when there done :D

Again thank`s for the kind words on the Weasel :D
