Skyworks....important information
Skyworks....important information
I received information as to the whereabouts of Jack, the owner of Skyworks, for anyone who has outstanding business with him:
Jack Plonka, is his full name and he is now employed by Chrysler Corporation in Detroit in their design department.
If someone could pass this information onto the Fighting 118th, i know there are people there with outstanding issues as well.
I have had no business dealings with Jack myself, so i am just passing this on for information purposes.

So we can expect in the news one day Chrysler reporting trouble on their redesign of the Jeep Wrangler due to a designer receiving full pay for half a design?

Re: Skyworks....important information
I could have told you he was called Jack Plonka, but darnit, I just sent the box which I think had his address on it to a fellow board member... Jnewboy, when you get the Komet kit in a day or so, I think Plonka's address is still on the box
I thought it was the address for MTS (which I bought the kit through) but their store is in Ohio and I remember the address being in Michigian - which would fit the Detroit story.

Re: Skyworks....important information
Thanks for posting that, Jnewboy! Hopefully your doing that helps someone here or on another forum out. I got the Komet kit a while back (almost 2 years ago) before I sold it to Jnewboy and it turns out it was Jack's address on the box... Jack possibly could have moved, but the address is in Michigan...

I don't really keep up with things like this, or who these small "companies" are, but I guess this thread means Skyworks is ripping people off on here now too?

Re: Skyworks....important information
Posting a website notice telling customers to get their money on deposit from Paypal is immoral. That's simply no way to treat good customers who placed their trust in Jack and Skyworks.
But I'm wondering--
Why would an entrepreneur shutter a successful business to seek out work at Chrysler?
What forced him out of the industry?
My purchases from him were excellent.

Re: Skyworks....important information
My guess is they got in over their heads. They had more orders placed and money received than product produced to sell. They had been struggling to keep up for quite some time. There was something going around about a death but who knows if that was true or just an excuse to shut the doors and rip people off. The big problem is that many buyers paid for items that took time to develop or create. These buyers passed the amount of time that PayPal allows for a refund. Those guys are hanging out in the wind. I really hope that they band together and go after him.

Were it me, and had I lost a substantial amount of money, I might be considering sending a group letter to management at that Chrysler plant advising them of the caliber of individual that they recently hired with the caveat "take this for what it is worth..."

No, none of this analysis holds water.
Entrepreneurs don't close businesses when they get too busy; they expand. It would go against every fiber of their soul to shut down when things are cooking.
Deaths and terminal illness will normally only close an enterprise when it directly involves key personnel. We know that is not the case, either.
Retribution does nothing for those of us who no longer have a source for resin kits, Tomcat accessories, or custom work.
So my question still remains:
What caused Jack to abruptly close Skyworks and abandon the 1:18 marketplace?

And how would doing this get your money back? Were it me, and had I lost a substantial amount of money, I might be considering sending a group letter to management at that Chrysler plant advising them of the caliber of individual that they recently hired with the caveat "take this for what it is worth..."
You'd be better off plucking a dandelion from your front yard and blowing a wish.
