I already have the master road wheels and track links ready to replicate.

I was ready to press forward but every time the spector of 21st/JSI making it would come up.

Can anybody say Jagdtiger ?

I still say the third picture is a 32x with full sideskirts. The turret, gun mantle, commanders copula, and spare track links looks different than the other two pictures above it. Also look at the tools on the hull. The first 2 images of the 1/18 prototype shows the mounts on the hull. The third picture has the mounts molded as part of the tools themselves like the cold steel versions.

The third photo certainly seems to be a 1/32.

The '1/18' on E-bay has all the same detail features as the first two shots, but the painted version in the third picture matches the other 1/32 releases for detail not the E-bay item.
Differences include:
Size of muzzle brakes. Early grooved v late smooth mantlets. Commanders sighting vane only on 1/18. Armour interlocks between front and side of turrets.
Position of spare track/hangers. Joint between spare track and links (wide gaps on 1/32) Size of bow mg housings. Some of these have already been mentioned, and there's probably more, but all can be picked out in the pictures

The only diferrence with other 1/32 releases is full side skirts.

Have All-go ever have access to the 1/18 prototypes or moulds?

It seems that you would have to be a true blue 1/18th collector to spend the amount of money that this tank looks like its going to command, as much as I would like to have a 1/18 Kingtiger, I believe I will wait and get one of Heng Longs 1/16 RCs when they come out.

there will be a last minute flurry of bidding no doubt. It will top over $1G, which is madness. You could commission PH to make one and have it painted for far less than that i would bet.

Even at its current price; you could buy a 1/16 KT and Jagdtiger and Jagdpanther and KV-1 and have plenty of money left over for batteries.

Why do these bidders keep bumping the price up?

As has been said before, whoever wins this better hope this is truly "one of a kind".

If All-Go does make the KT this year....Then cue the "Price is Right" losing music for the winner of this auction:

Then again, this auction is ridiculous in my opinion given that there are already a couple of examples in 1/16 (R/C no less) WAY BELOW this bid.

Not that I want insinuate that this Ebay price is reasonable, but I feel that it can be confidently said that whoever wins this will at the very least be able to boast about having an almost one of a kind KT. Even if others pop up on Ebay it wouldn't really matter, they'd probably sell for similar prices and I don't think there would be that many. I stand firm in my opinion that practically no armor (if any armor at all) like the KT will be released this year, especially by Allgo. If JSI announced they were going to make King Tigers I wouldn't be so skeptical, however they haven't (to my knowledge).

Seconding the comments that I'd rather own Heng Long's for a lot less, RC, and have plenty left over to buy a 2nd, 3rd, or more.

Yep!, definitely agree with the above comments. Bidding has slowed now, but it will get "Hot and Heavy" in the last few minutes of the auction.
Back in the day when prices of $70-90 were estimated for a KT release, I was weighing up the high purchase price. 1c under $660 with shipping to be added is WAY out of my price range

This kind of money on a displayed prototype, even the KT, is just dopey.

OK, so chances are that the 1/18 KT will never see the light of day, but I just have the feeling that AG did go that far as to start production and there is a warehouse full somewhere in China and they will show up some day.

But then I do believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa. 8)

Precisely, this is not a 1/18 aircraft piece that has no counterpart in the model world. It's a 1/18th Armor Subject that has three VERY good examples that have been built by HL, Matorro and Tamiya. All three containing RC guts.

Don't know aferg. Shoot, I haven't been keeping up on rcuniverse.

The more and more I look at this thing, the more it looks like 1/32 given the molded on details.

The KT in the ebay auction is definitely a 1/18, but the painted one that 21st/all-go used in their promotion is a 32x with full skirts.

You must have missed the posts between myself and tankduel. The Jagdtiger is in stock and ready for order. But it is an exclusive commissioned by Awesome Hobbies in Australia. I doubt you will see any for sale anywhere else. Thats the only place I have seen any.

Let me just say, prototypes sell for a lot in other hobbies, so I'm not shocked at the price, but it just seems odd because prototypes seem more popular in more well rooted toy lines... I mean, Star Wars prototypes have their own sub-culture of collectors.

So I'm not shocked at $1000 for a legitimate prototype of the tank, it's just more that anyone's that interested in it considering this hobby has always seemed so small I guess. I'd totally plunk that kind of change down on a prototype Star Wars item I really wanted, if I could justify blowing that much money on anything other than home improvements, a car, surgery... :)
