FW 190D LANDING GEAR BROKEN

Post by Buckyroo » Tue Jun 29, 2010 3:06 am

Forgive me if this has been covered, but I am looking for ideas or to find out how others have fixed their broken FW 190D landing gear. The small pivot pins are what are broken on my planes. I just recently received these planes and have not spent much time looking at how to fix them. I am guessing that the wing will have to be taken apart to allow the gear to be reset in place once a new pin is created.

Please let me know how you have fixed yours - unless your cure is to "just hang it from the ceiling with the gear up"

Ahhh, the good old 1st series FW-190 landing gear problem bites again! When the plane first came out, I broke a gear. I even had a repair guide on the forum at one time. Anyways, what I did was heat a pin on the oven and insert it where the old pin broke off. You will then have to take the wing apart to reinstall the gear. It wasn't that bad when I did it.... good luck!

My Red 3 has the same problem with one of the landing gear. I remeber Teamski's tutorial on here. I haven't tackled the fix yet as my plane is hanging with gear up.
Is that you John Wayne, this is me!!

Red Three for me as well. Temporary fix was superglue. I haven't messed with it since. I had some 1/32 landing gear I had to use the metal pin method on. Worked Great.
