Three Newest Additions
Three Newest Additions
Just got these in the mail today. I had to spend about an hour getting the dust off, but they are in really good shape and they all have their boxes. I guess these are three reasons I won't be getting the F-14 right now, although delivered these three cost me less than a F-14 would have. I would rather have these than a F-14 anyway, but that's just what I like.

Great score all 3 are must haves.
Boy I remmember way back when . Those white nosed Spits were at EVERY Walmart in the NOLA area.
They went down to about $15 and I got a few. I wished that I had gotten ALL !!!!.
Plus those Samantha Ps. were flying over the XD aile at all of the Toy r us.
Man those were the days.
When the dust settles those polka dot F-14 will be collectors items because everybody hated them.
That is what happend to those shaked mouth P-38s. Everybody hated them . Now they are the most saught after. After the Haleanka.

Nice snag Buckyroo,
I have ALL the P-38's and Samantha Payton is one of the best.
Probably because it is an OD one. They just seem to look better in OD.
With the price of Spitfires these days,I think that you should appreciate your NKK.
Unless you want to spend $300+,it's probably the only one you are going to get.
I only have one P-47.Just something not quite right about them.
But your "Peg o my Heart" does look very nice.
Might have to do with the OD colours again.
And those invasion stripes look good as well.
Nice haul, and they look great together.

Damn. I never picked up the Thunderbolt. Wanted one bubble canopy and one razor. Ah well, maybe in the future.
Nice score man! The Spit is a beaut, and the Lightning never ceases to impress.

Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:
F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

The Boy Scout troop I am involved with has been invited back and we fully intend to be there. The trooped worked 11 1/2 hours on the Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday which didn't leave them much time to get around, but we did volunteer to help. The boys had such a good time they all wanted to come back. The whole group at MAAM is great to work with. I wish I would have gotten involved in WWII Weekend about 18 years ago. It is really cool to see the Vets interacting with the scouts.Coreyeagle48 wrote:Buckyroo:

Nice!
That's my favorite P-38. That and the Haleanka are the only ones that looks early WWII.
The OD Thunderbolts are my favorite also. Though I like the checkertail P-47 the most.
Have the Spit and Lightning. I need to check my boxes to see if I have that PegO. Sure looks cool.

Here is the link to the WWII Weekend website. It is an event held every year on the first weekend in June in Reading, PA at the Mid Atlantic Air Musium. A gathering of reenactors, equipment, and machines that is absolutely impressive. The list of veterans that attend to speak or do meet and greet/book signings, etc. is even more impressive. The whole event is billed as a step back in time with shops set up like Main Street, Anytown, USA in the early 1940's, they pipe big band music and live radio jingles from their radio station on Main Street. During the day the reenactors stage battles, equipment moves around, and the air show takes place in the afternoon. Friday and Saturday night they have hanger parties with a live big band in which an amazing amount of people come dressed period correct. They also have vendors that sell everything WWII related. Militarytoyshop.com seems to be always there and many more with models and dio items - got the #12 FW190D there last year and the sellers had plenty more 1/18 stuff.
All in all I would highly recomend this event.

The Boy Scout Troop I help out worked the main gate selling programs and keeping the lines moving in and out last year. We anticipate doing that again this year. If we are we will be in BSA uniform, troop 441, ask for Kris Swanson and I'll say hi.Barbarian333 wrote:Thanx Buckyroo . I think I'm gonna get to that this year. I'm moving from California to N. Virginia in April.
