Favorite 109s

Post by sledgehammer » Fri Aug 14, 2009 4:13 am

Ran this question back a few weeks ago as to what everyones favorite mustang was, and am now wondering likewise what everyone thinks is their favorite 21st Me109? Either the E or G models. Mine is and has always been my Galland E-4. Like the g-mods a lil better, but that paintsheme is a beauty.

The "Gunther Rall" Bf-109G tops it for me. I also like the "Sahl" version as well.

I like the Tropical E model, with the tan and green camo.

i'm surprised no one mentioned the BBI one. this is the only 109 i don't have and the price for one is really high.

Young thread ... the BBI tan 109 is among my favorites. In fact, it is currently the only 1/18 109 in my collection on display. :)

I bought mine this year from smalljoes.com. IIRC I paid $55 plus shipping, which seemed fair to me.

The detailing on the plane is really nice. Though I do have a softspot for my 21c winter 109. It was my first, and was on display for a couple of years.

i prefer the "seeman" 109 with the tight nose spiral and cool art.

I am pretty sure I have all of them . I would say the BBI is my fav. Next the Spinache model.

My least fav is probably the 21st S-1
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

That one and the spinach are the only 2 I don't have. The prices I have seen it sell for are leading me to think I may never get one.

I don't think the spinach model was a good representation of Wick's plane anyway - but it would have been cool to have models for Molders, Wick and Galland when they all were Majors at 50+ kills
