Talk of the death of 1/18 was premature
I suspect figures utilize an entirelly different manufacture process and may have not even been produced by JSI (the e-mail from BadCat stated JSI is the manufacture of 21st 1/18 vehicles). I thought it was significant Lulubelle is not shown with any figures, when the 21st plan was to include pilot and ground crew. I wouldn't be surprised if the JSI models had no pilots or drivers. Stock up on those bbi USN figures!

I think it probably will. It's not a bad scheme, but it's in desperate need of tactical markings. The Panther was priced in that range, as was the 88 and we all know how those two ended up.aferguson wrote:nice looking paint job on the Tiger. Price is a bit stiff though, i hope that doesn't hurt sales.
These will in all probability be exclusive to online distribution, so we'll see where e-tailers price these out at.

I like the paint scheme on the Tiger I. As mentioned the price will be a big factor in sales. If they don't sell we'll just have to wait for another Monkey Depot Blamo sale. At $80.00 plus shipping your over $100.00 per tank if they want to keep the 1:18th line alive they've got to knock the price down.
I'm glad someone is willing to keep this scale going I just hope JSI looks at lessons learned.

Regarding price, as someone who came to the game late and has been looking at eBay prices, these numbers don't seem shocking. The issue, though, is how the market reacts to increased supply -- even the POSSIBILITY of increased supply. It looks like they're hoping to split the difference between mass-market big-box store sales and hoarder sales to hungry addicts. It'll be a tough balance to strike.
Anyway -- the Tomcat looks awesome. AWESOME.

[+] > What's all the fuss about the pri¢e of the Tiger ?
........... The latest Panther from 21st.C was @ the same pri¢e until MD blowed them out.
... Now they're back up to what , $59.95 ... I don't think there'll be much of a pri¢e drop , if any. ... "C'mon dudes".

Yeah, and they sat at that price, as did the 88.MG-42 wrote:[+] > What's all the fuss about the pri¢e of the Tiger ?

They didn't move until MD blew 'em out. 1:18 tanks aren't a deal when for a pittance more you can get 1:16 R/C models that do alot more.
Roll your eyes all you like.

OK. Please amend my statement to:
I have a few artillery pieces in 1/6 "distributed" by Merit. They "distribute" quality stuff and I look forward to the Tiger to be "distributed" by Merit.
Planes, schmanes, all I'm interested in are ground vehicles.

Sometimes I am the windshield, sometimes, I am the bug.
Just out of curiosity, since Admiral, BBI, and now JSI has all these models coming soon, how come NOTHING has shown up yet? I am hopeful but a lot of my favorite things to collect are now going the way of the dinosaurs(Star Wars Titanium, Transformers classics and GI Joe), and the things that are still here are now too expensive to get (Star Wars, Marvel, Macross). I just hope these are not just mock-ups to guage the public interest in new products and then they decide that only a few loyal collectors are the only ones that will buy them, so they cancel production. Trust me I DO want all the items listed and I love the glimmer of hope for us but finger crossing may not be enough this time

dragon, sounds like it includes everything the 21C version did (from BadCat's description) -dragon53 wrote:The new Tiger I lacks the machine gun on the oldrelease and apparently lacks the commander figure, too.
