I like this diorama.......
I think its 1:48th. *just found out its 1:72 scale.
it'd look cool in 1:18th.

I think that I have all the bells and whistles done.
Whip antenna or ground sensor ?
Radar loop
Cannon flash suppressor.
The flash suppressor has been made now is it going to come out ? I do not know.I really hope it will because of this project and the future kugleblitz.
The pitot tube is made , but I forgot to take a pic.
Be careful you will put your eye out with that thing. I will try and take a pic of it next time I post pics. It is no big deal just a piano wire in a brass tube.

What is the pricing on this again? Is there an option to have a full build and painted? Is it too late to order?

Nice detail pics Pickel!! Those cannon flash suppressors look like they took a bit of work.
And whats this you say a future project...Kugleblitz ? I'll take one.
I can't wait to see your 229 with wings on and landing gear down.
What are the measurements in 1:18? L 16'' W 36" H 6" ?.......I'm working on something.

The wing span is 36 " but I am not sure of the actual height and length.
I will check this morning and get back to you on that.
Looks like my measurements are 16 and 1/4 inch and the height is 6 and 1/14 inch.
The measurements match the prints I am using.

I believe that image is from that show on Discovery and/or Military Channel where some company like Northrup Grumman or Boeing built a 1/1 scale replica to see if it was really stealth (the two night fighters have been photoshopped in). The conclusion: it wasn't.

It had a much lighter signature though than other aircraft especially of that period. It was a good program, Im waiting for them to put that replica on eBay so I can put it on top of a bar Im buying. Or I may line it with Christmas lights and put it on the roof of my house this holiday season.PanzerArm wrote:I believe that image is from that show on Discovery and/or Military Channel where some company like Northrup Grumman or Boeing built a 1/1 scale replica to see if it was really stealth (the two night fighters have been photoshopped in). Well guys I am going to have a short lull on the Horten project.
My regular job ( real job ) seems to be kicking right now. It looks like I may have about 2 weeks of it lined up right now.
The XD comes short every month in paying the bills so I need to get this while the getting is good.
Plus my custom orders are getting backed up as well. When I get done with my real job work I need to get those orders out so I do not get angry customers.
Most of those guys are real cool about the wait but I try to make everybody happy.
I will try to squeeze in work on this as best as I can .

I feel your pain. As frustrating as what you're doing on the Horten can get to be as it turns into a longer project than you imagined (I'm guessing), it's a masterpiece that's really appreciated by the people who are following you. Work in "the real world" is rarely so rewarding ...pickelhaube wrote:Well guys I am going to have a short lull on the Horten project.

No problem, Matthew.
The real world comes first.
And I am sure everyone is very happy with the speed of Horten so far.

Gotta make hey wile the sun shines my friend! We all understand that modeling XD is really more a labor of love and not a practical substitute for earning a living and providing for a family! Glad to hear business is picking up (for everyone it seems!)
