I could have sworn a good 3-5 years back now there was someone in the 1:18 scale forum making a P-39 Aircobra? I might have mixed up another plane someone made. If anyone knows if this was made, and who made it, please chime in.
Thanks!

Re: P-39 Aircobra
It was never made.
Board member P-39 was working on one but never completed it.

Re: P-39 Aircobra
I started one many years ago, but never finished. It’s still sitting in the basement, not much farther than the photos. Here is the old thread: http://www.warbird-photos.com/gpxd/view ... =9&t=16100Shomare wrote:I could have sworn a good 3-5 years back now there was someone in the 1:18 scale forum making a P-39 Aircobra? Hi B-29,
I just went through this thread and the thread of your original posting of the P-39. It looks like you were pretty close to completing this Project. Is this a Project that you are planing to complete soon? I would be very interested in buying one, if you plan on offering up a kit. Thank you for sharing the threads and the photos of the build itself. You have some serious skills there.

Thanks, unfortunately, it’s pretty much permanently shelved back at my parents place now. I planned on a kit originally, but the investment cost in resin/rtv was too high for me (in high school at the time) to justify going through with it. In the mean time, I’ve gotten deep into RC, and actually have a great flying P-39 model.mutt71 wrote:Hi B-29,

I understand that. Time and Money are almost always in the way to starting a project and then finding the time and money to finish it up. If you don't mind my asking, the flying P-39 that you have, is it 1/8 by any chance? If it is who is the manufacturer and where would we be able to get one?
Re: P-39 Aircobra
It is about 1/10 scale and made by FMS. The base model was ok, but I made a few mods to it: https://www.hobbysquawk.com/forum/rc-ai ... -p-39-mods. The military scheme is discontinued but they still sell the Reno Racer version: https://www.horizonhobby.com/p-39-racin ... np-roh014p. Top Flite also made a 1/7 balsa kit a while back, but it’s scale outline isn’t great, and it’s hard to find.mutt71 wrote:I understand that. Thank you for the info and links! I am going to search the net in search of something close to 1/18 scale.
