Re: Dragon 1/6 Panzer II C..if it is real, I'll get it
One of the complaints/problems with this model is that for the $500 price you seem to be getting no accessories at all with the tank, nothing, not a strap on tool, no shovel, bar, nothing.
If this turns out to be true, it may be a way for DML to keep cost down. I personally would rather buy a wood and metal accessory when I can afford it (I always give my family a list of small and big stuff for them to make me happy on holidays like Christmas and other holidays like my bday).
I need a big stocking this year for that Pz II.

Hopefully the pic's on the 'net from the Expo are of a display, pre-production unit.
From tman's link, it does say assembled and painted. Maybe we will see more of the finer details on the actual production model. Perhaps Dragon rep's are scanning the forums for feedback and going to give the consumer exactly what they want.

DML's normal mode is to release a completed model than a year or two later release it as a kit. They did that with the Jeep, Kubel, and there guns. I am going to have to wait for the kit to be released.

Re: Dragon 1/6 Panzer II C..if it is real, I'll get it
War-toys.com is offering this Pz II for $499.00 with free shipping. It is a pre-order which requires a two payment plan. Half now and the other half when they tell you they have the tank. Sure makes it easier on us than getting hit with $500 plus shipping payment whenever the tank comes in.
I just checked the site to copy/paste a link and nowhere does it say anything about the 2 payments. It does say free shipping and one of the 1/6 guys says they do all their pre-pays the same way. I can't vouch for that.... At 11PM EST, they also only have 2 left.
Can't recommend this site personally but have heard that they are good people. I ordered mine. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Hope it's a Merry Christmas for me but by year end is stretching it a bit I think.

$499 seems to be the lowest list price for this pre-order, no one ELSE offers free shipping though. Some etailers now have pic's of painted vehicles with a bit more detail. e.g. Panzer gray, mounted aerial and a few items on the "fenders".
Going by Dragon's other kits it may be up to a 2 year wait for the 1/6 kit to be available.

Aslav:
I don't understand your comment about nobody offers free shipping. The link I posted for the War-Toys Pz II says "includes domestic shipping". As time goes by, I am sure more etailers will be offering deals including shipping. I would love one of the Taowan vehicles, the Sdkfz 222, the Scout Car and others but charging almost $300 for shipping turns me off on a $500-600 vehicle. I keep waiting for a U.S. dealer to offer them. I paid $60 shipping for the DID Sdkfz 251 (60 pound weight) and it was drop shipped from China to me by a local etailer so deals do pop up now and then.
Sorry you are "down under", but isn't shipping to you from China more reasonable than to the U.S.?
DML has been following a built model about two years later with a kit. I think the Pz II will be a hit with 1/6 guys and will be around for awhile. Curious comments keep popping up about DML saying that the $499 price is an introductory price and will soon end. We shall see.

DOH!, sorry my bad, reviewed my message and I had omitted the word "ELSE".
I was posting after reading your's and sort of saying this was a good deal for US buyers as no other etailer offers free shipping. SORRY Trip_T.
edit: I have thought about the great 222 also, same post charge to US or Australia. Me thinks they avoid eBay charges with postage fee.

Re: Dragon 1/6 Panzer II C..if it is real, I'll get it
Anyone actually had the cajones (sp?) to pre-order this 1/6 beast ?.
I imagine if it was a 1/18th offering there would be many "affirmatives"

Cajones, I have. I did pre-order one from a etailer with free shipping. Supposed to be here around Christmas..... yeah but I believe in Santa also...
I'm not too sure how smart I am, but cajones have never been a problem. Plenty of mistakes in my life but some important decisions turned out just fine and I've gambled alot more than $500.
I'll post pics whenever I get this cute as a button little tank.

Latest pics of the Pz II shows paint and operating hatches with at least some topside tools:

Do these 1/6 vehicles usually have a working suspension?

Re: Dragon 1/6 Panzer II C..if it is real, I'll get it
99% of 1/6 vehicles do have some rudimentary suspension. Some, like the DID Kettengrad has a working suspension to turn it RC without changing the suspension at all. To turn RC, most need tougher axles but tracked vehicles usually need relatively minor upgrades in the suspension.

Who's pics are those with the 1/18 Panther ?
It is cool if it is a manufactuere pics.
This does look temtpting.
I still kind of hate myself for passing on those 1/6 scale FOV Tigers for $650

Re: Dragon 1/6 Panzer II C..if it is real, I'll get it
As far as I know, the pics are from either the manufacturer or some middle man in China.
Again, as far as I know no one in the U.S. has seen the Pz II. The original pics were from a DML selling booth at a toy fair in the Far East.
My dealer still says late December is the arrival date. They will let me know when they arrive. I'm not holding my breath until late December, I have too much experience with 21C to expect that to be true. I'll believe it when my dealer asks me for the 2nd half of the purchase price, which will be when the tanks arrive.
It would sure be a nice Christmas present though...
