Same goes for the A-10 for many here. Without a good aircraft subject to start things rolling for All-Go, I'll bet the chances of new armor is nil. The A-10 could be the door to the King Tiger.Light.Inf.Scout wrote:King Tiger...been waiting for that for sometime now.

Yes, people want the A 10, including me (for a reasonable price). I was referring to the King Tiger being announced, built and at one point "on the water" (as rumor had it) and it never showed.

i don't think it's a choice between the two. If they could make the KT they probably would. They may not have the financial resources to do it yet. The A-10 is probably a small production run, resin offering with very little financial outlay on AllGo's part, which will hopefully generate some more funds so that they can take the next step....whatever that is.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I don't want rain on the A-10's parade, but I can't really see this being good for the average collector. The fact that All-Go is teaming with Skyworks almost certainly means that the A-10 will be a resin model, which equals big, big bucks. If Skyworks has any business sense at all I'm sure they will enter some agreement with All-Go to prevent the prototype from being used in the future as a future full-production plastic model (and in turn making the resin kit obsolete).
I voted for King Tiger as I also think it would be better to start producing this as armor does sell and the price would be in most peoples budget. I tried to sell a skyworks hurricane 1/18 kit here and not one person responded. What about a $500.00 plane or more. Come on, many people just cant afford high end stuff like that especially a static model. JSI f-14 FOR $300.00 Is already pushing it and now that skyworks will help with the A-10 I see cost rising on this one.

Pretty good view, but what if All-Go is really wanting to produce the A-10 and is feeling out the market in some way through this. They could do it and it would be priced more reasonably. The truth is aircraft sell better than armor. The record of 1/18 manufacturers speaks for itself. How many of them started out with an armor release before an aircraft release? bbi dropped armor and Admiral never even gave it a try.aferguson wrote:i don't think it's a choice between the two. You want a King Tiger, something like an A-10 will need to be done. I think that perhaps what is being sought out here is how many of you really want a 1/18 scale A-10? What price range and what detail must it have at that price range?

Why aren't action figures a first choice? I voted King Tiger because I have 0 interest in a Warthog really (Great plane, just nothing I'd buy unless I got one super cheap somewhere). Figures are much less costly to produce, and if managed properly they could be the financial burst the company could need, or at least start building upon, to start doing a piece of armor and a plane every year... Hell, maybe even expand into smaller "mid-size" items too.
Putting all your eggs into one basket though, with one model, hoping to build some kind of capital to expand, just seems like a bad idea to me... Gotta start somewhere and all, but going big or going home seems like a wasted effort.
