Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

Some cute little spacecraft kids can enjoy, yet with a realistic Space / Military vibe, mature adult collectors can really appreciate, too. First pic is the X-24A NASA / Air Force. Second pic is the lifting-body sisters X-24A, M2-F3 & HL-10. ALL amazingly measure LESS in length + wingspan than one o...

And yet another plane (Me-262) All-Go already has molds to sell with a big media movie tie-in. Stores really like toys with a movie back-up. Mabye something last-minute can be work out with just one interested store. http://www.thereelbits.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/red-tails-poster3.jpg

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

We underestimated Dragon. It takes more plastic + tooling to make a 1/6 Sherman than it takes to make Titan missiles in 1/18 scale. Slice a Sherman 1/6 in half, stack those halves atop each other, its height is 76.6 inches. Less than 72 inch measures some Titans; including one with a Gemini Capsule....

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

Perhaps a V-2 in this scale. What a ridiculous idea . . . Funny. On gburch's funny note, like his great V2, many rockets have a relatively small "footprint" taking no less floor area than a tank or even jeep at 1:18. Dragon can start smaller with Redstone. Here's a site sold out of its even "bigger...

Anyone near Alabama close to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center? An exhibit opened a couple weeks ago with a big V-2 in honor of von Braun's 100th birthday next year. EXCERPT: "October 21, 2011 to May 2012, U.S. Space & Rocket Center will proudly present '100 YEARS OF VON BRAUN: HIS AMERICAN JOURNEY' - ...

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

Wow. They just re-released thie classic U.S. Space Missiles set from the 1950s in a recent "Heritiage Edition" selling out in some hobby stores and running on eBay for $100 to $200!!! If Dragon can offer that $200 pre-built rocket 1.5 meter tall, then a similar-size Mercury-Atlas or even sho...

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

Along with Mercury-Atlas here's another example how Dragon can make a manned Space rocket into many more Military Missiles to sell to us Military Collectors. First photo shows one manned Space rocket the Mercury-Redstone. Latter photos are simply the Redstone (minus Mercury capsule) in their earlier...

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

Dragon can take any (space) rocket, re-purpose + re-paint it into ANY of its earlier (military) missiles. Here's the U.S. Space Missile kit by Monogram. Check out the kid from the Cold War era, smiling and holding thee same Atlas rocket (mentioned above) yet painted in its early (military) missile f...

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

^ Agreed, it would be cool to make. Again the Atlas-Mercury at 1:18 measures the same height as the Saturn at 1:72 wonderfully "selling fast" on preorder. So even if it sounds like a tall-order to make, something of similar height (the Saturn V) is already being made, and wonderfully "selling" as re...

Re: Dragon to issue new 1/18 Space figures

Spoke with my dragon salesman today...will be offering the 1/72 Saturn V...they are selling fast in presale American_Grenadier. They're really selling fast? If so, can you ask that Dragon salesman to make its future 1:18 rockets; so they can be re-milked + re-sold later as military items (e.g. the ...

Re: New Merit 1/18 DAUNTLESS DISCUSSION

After seeing this great news on the SBD, I couldn't help but recall what Badcat said on the SB2C... From Badcat: 1:18 scale SB2C Helldiver—An extremely good seller in 1:72, don’t dismiss too quickly. If SBD sells then a SB2C (the real-life replacement diver of the SBD) may have a chance too. This is...

Re: Does Anybody Want Any More Russian Stuff ?

I believe there's a BIG community of PC Flight Simulator enthusiasts who love this ongoing series called IL-2 STURMOVIK. There might be interest beyond our little 1:18 bubble for this plane for those who enjoy the IL-2 Sturmovik video games. She's a great plane with great paint schemes. The Ilyushin...

Re: 1/18 Ho-229 Build is Done !!!!! Finished Pics 10-13

This is too nice of a build to buy just one. To encourage more sales, how's about a special price if you buy more than one? Some people already paid many months ago. So those who pre-paid have made more money in these last few months. Hopefully they'll be encouraged to cough up to buy just one more....

Re: Big Millennium Falcon - BMF sealed MIB - will trade for

Aren't those BMF's (big mother f'n some of us call em') impossible to get now? Last time I checked they were going for more than double the already high original price. Yeah, they are getting harder to find. I posted the Target site where I bought it and now the site shows they no longer carry it.

Re: Badcat's "If I were a manufacturer"

I'm not sure how a Helldiver would sell in 1:18. I too was a little caught off guard. BUT if BCA says (and hard-numbers say) it has, does, and will do well; then it can likely do very well. Its very unique "Fore-and-Aft" canopy (see below) makes a unique plane. Dauntless is nice. But looks like the...

I would also love a 1/18 Helldiver. I have always liked that plane. From Badcat --- 1:18 Helldiver ---An extremely good seller in 1:72, don’t dismiss too quickly at this. Helldiver - I'd thought I'd never see this in 1:18 due to the Dauntless long slated (now stalled) release. Yet hearing how the H...

God I hope the other is a Blue Angel. It would pair very well with the Thunderbird. As many pointed, BOTH would sell great at the air shows. Here's videos of such air shows, the many kid fans (boys and even girls), and the historic 1st female Thunderbird + Blue Angel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
