Re: 1/18 160th Nightstalker helicopter

but it's not a 1/18 Hind. It's a black hawk that has been issued umpteen times (thereby watering down the potential market for a new one) and is not overly detailed or accurate for what it is supposed to be representing. It's ok, but it's not collector quality but has a collector price. Plus with a...

Re: 1/18 160th Nightstalker helicopter

Reading the posts here and on other forums, would everyone have an issue with the price if it were a 1/18 scale Mi 24 Hind? I ask because if we want to see new subjects with the current market, this is probably going to be the selling price, if not higher, for new 1/18 subjects of this size. Especia...

Re: Badcat's "If I were a manufacturer"

You can get the idea of what I'm talking about from the photos I took of the Flying Styro A-10 (which is being touted as 1/17 scale by the manufacturer, but is realy in between 1/17 and 1/18 scale when you mesure it) sitting beside bbi's 1/18 scale F-18. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r191/birdd...

Re: Badcat's "If I were a manufacturer"

Of course that's BS on the A-10 and F-4. There's no way an A-10 or an F-4 couldn't be produced for a retail price that is at or below the $300 retail price of a 1/18 scale F-14. The A-10 especially since it is way simpler to recreate in design features compared to an F-14...... I'm not sure ...

Re: F-15 eagle and J-11 coming from JSI..

From what I remember reading in past posts on another forum, I believe The Fighting 1/18th, Merit hinted that JSI was not sure about the F-15 as the best choice in terms of sales so it was basically being put on the shelf for the moment and the J-11/SU-27, if produced, would be a release focused on ...

Re: F-15 eagle and J-11 coming from JSI..

Sorry, but these have been listed since the website went up about two years ago. The J-11 has always been listed as the J-11 on their website. Everyone has been calling it the Su-27 because, well, frankly that is what the J-11 is and more collectors would rather see it in a Russian scheme than a Chi...

Wow, looks like Pickle's custom made some heads turn. Way to lead the way Pickle!!!

It will be interesting to see when this one becomes available. I can still see parts of Pickle's kit adding to this vesion even.

Re: Two Modern Birds after the BF-109.

Hmmm....I wonder if one or both are "new" subjects? It may be a long shot but how awesome it would be if one of them was the A-10 they never released.

More than likely it's a repaint of the F-18 and the Thunderbird F-16.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Very encouraging news for the hobby though.

Re: Flying Styro A-10

My thoughts exactly Aferg. It is great for what it is but I'm still holding strong to faith we will see a 1/18 scale A-10 in plastic form some day from someone. I may hold out building this one until then so that I can build it to suit the way I want to display it. I know that may be a long time to ...

Flying Styro A-10

I recieved my Flying Styro A-10 kit in the mail. I took a few pictures of it to share with everyone. Below are pictures of it next to bbi's F-18. The A-10 is a doable aircraft in 1/18 scale as far as size is concerned. Flying Styro's website says that the kit is 1/17 scale but is really more 1/18 sc...

Ok, finally after a month, here are some pictures of the pilots I made using the helmet from the Green Lantern Test Pilot figure, Cobra Shock Troopers, and harness gear from a Cobra Snow Serpent. I also switched the Shock Trooper head with a head from a 25th Anniversary Cobra Trooper. http://i144.ph...

Re: Picking up the Gauntlet

Also I did run a poll on the A-10 and there was TONS OF INTEREST. I had guys who wanted to give me deposits to start my R and D. Then there was that rumor of it being built and it turned out to be SW. We all know what happened to that. Maybe if I can get done with all of these other projects I am w...

Re: B-25 - finished!

I'll take some pictures of it when it arrives and post them here. It may be a while before I build it, but I'll definitely post the finished product when I do. Reviewing the deminisions given for it on Flying Styro's website, it is about 1/2 an inch short in length and about 1 inch long in the wings...

Re: Picking up the Gauntlet

I agree with Birddog an undertaking like the A-10 could easily be underminded by a company like JSI, Admiral or All-Go. The undertaking could be a whole lot of work for nothing. My vote is for the P-51 B/C conversion since there are so many P-51D's out there (possibly the most produced 1/18 prop jo...

Re: Pirated 21CT...that many?

You have to remember that a website doesn't really tell you how large the company is or how many employees they have working for them. For all we know it could be one or two guys running things out of a home office while the grunt work is planned on being subcontracted out to others in China or some...

Re: Pirated 21CT...that many?

Same old company, different name.......as some have said, they need to redirect their energy in putting something (not old but new) on the market and stop whining. Get the A-10 back, complete/update the prototype and produce it!!!

Re: B-25 - finished!

Looks fantastic!!! I ordered the Flying Styro A-10 kit from them the other day and it just shipped. It is supposed to be pretty spot on 1/18 scale. At least if we never do get a plastic 1/18 scale A-10, I'll have a very decent looking 1/18 scale A-10 in my collection. I wasn't sure about the foam, b...

Re: Picking up the Gauntlet

I know Birddog would agree that the A-10 deserves some more consideration - isn't that why you dropped it as a possible project for you before (cause SkyWorks was going to do it). I remember you were "testing the waters" at one point to do a full build of the A-10. Maybe those reigns are a bit heav...

There are a bunch in the US now on Ebay for the F-14 and the listing indicates that the sell will do custom work.
