So, don't kill me if after using this method you have to repaint the entire piece, but I have had 100% luck on this when I have used it. Nail Polish Remover (the kind with alcohol). You carefully rub some on the numbers and they will likely come off... now, depending on the piece it may also take th...

Wait! I just noticed something strange: The first figure is what I was talking about, standard moving arms with mitten hands and solid arms with firing hards, but the other figure has that same ocnfiguration plus a seperate firing hand! What is the deal with that? I assume this means the hands on th...

So, the standard hands are not molded in a firing position, rather a "mitten" type of hand. However the solid molded arms to have a firing position hand. I assume of course these are interchangable? I hope that the solid arms are not solid through the hand as well, b/c if it is and with 21st record ...

I was a platoon comander. 101st Airborne, HQ company. We were supposed to have around 50. We never had anywhere near that many guys. Ever. I would say I was somewhere around 35 at most times. Sometimes less. Sometimes more. There were all sorts of rules about numbers of guys and combat effectiveness...

Needed: Sherman 105 engine pictures!
I'm painting my bbi sherman 105 and have no idea what the engine should be painted like. I found a few engine pictures, but not many and not very good ones. What would this engine look like? What would the typical engine in a sherman look like? Any pictures, because I have searched and not found ver...

I hope that it's okay if I piggy-back on this post and not create a similar post but I also have a question about Tigers: About the tow cables that are strapped all over that thing. What were they typically used for most? Was it at all common for these to not be on the tank, because I see them on mo...

I'm looking into nice wwii military wrist watches. I'm also open to vietnam and wwi era as well.
Does any one here know a lot about these and have some beginner information? Or know a great resource to learn about these?

This is, as people said, not a sequal. Spielberg optioned the majority of all pacific war books for this and it will likely follow a group of USO workers and the stories that they are told by all different sorts of soldiers across the pacific. This USO thing may change, it is unclear. The stories wi...

Yes we did. I had one when I was there. I can't remember if it was a winchester or not, but I'm pretty sure it was. It might have been an ithica. There were esentially 4 main types of shotguns in use by the the U.S. and were marked U.S. on the reciever for the most part. The shogun that I am speakin...

U.S. INSPECTOR MARK QUESTION?
I have a Vietnam Era Savage Shotgun model 69R-H. I don't think it was used in the military, but it has the shorter stock, but isn't marker U.S. It does have a Spade marked on it. Any ideas on what this means? There is also an SP8 or possible SP6 or possible SP3 marked on it a few times. There is als...

Aztec? Where did you find the avenger in NM? I'm in Santa Fe and there is nothing! The one time I was in Farmington there were a few Indians selling XD outside on the side of the road and that was all I found in the entire town (including at walmart) It was very strange. Great work by the way, what ...

oh, one more thing. The stone walls and little bit of "drywall" are NOT tile grout. They are this doll house sand that you add water to. You get it off the internet, it's my big cheat, but it's impossible to make okay stone in a reasonable amount of time. The rest of those pieces are still tile grou...

Hey dfoos, The secret to the cement is two parts: First, title grout, which gives the texture of cement, but not the "look" of cement. To get the look of cement the painting order is as follows (I use delta acrylics for this type of stuff): 1 part charcoal to 1 part burnt umber - paint the entire pi...

Skipper, Just the extra thick foamcore glued together in layers and then carved and sanded to shape. Covered with tile grout, sanded a bit, primed, and painted in a three color coat technique to create a cement look, then painted in camo and weathered. The hatches and and view slits and such are lef...
